  <dc:title>Marthe Roy</dc:title>
<dc:description>Marthe Roy, a 61 year old woman, requests to be admitted to the Hospital. She was born in London, but her grandfather, Jaques Roy, was originally from Saint Supplice [probably Saint-Sulpice-d'Arnoult], near Mornaque in Saintonge. Marthe works in the silk industry but suffers from severe pains on her left hand side so cannot work enough hours to be financially independent. A note in another hand, states that Marthe had recently lost her brother who was the only person supporting her. The petition is signed by Pierre Merzeau, A Platrier and James Barbet.</dc:description>
