Marthe Roy Marthe Roy, a 61 year old woman, requests to be admitted to the Hospital. She was born in London, but her grandfather, Jaques Roy, was originally from Saint Supplice [probably Saint-Sulpice-d'Arnoult], near Mornaque in Saintonge. Marthe works in the silk industry but suffers from severe pains on her left hand side so cannot work enough hours to be financially independent.
