Esther Vère, née Duferné Esther Vère, a widow of about 85 years of age, requests to be admitted to the Hospital. Her father, Pierre Duferné, was a refugee from Dauphiné. Esther is severely unwell and very feeble so can no longer look after herself. A note in another hand states that she is suffering from a fever.
