  <dc:title>James Orange's petition</dc:title>
<dc:description>James Orange, a 58 year old man, requests to be admitted to the Hospital. He was born on 17 June 1786. His parents were Mary and Thomas Orange. The latter was a descendant of Abraham Orange, who arrived to England during the reign of William III from Bolbec, in Normandy. James is a silkweaver but can no longer work due to poor health. The petition is signed by James Orange himself and William Knope [?].
A note at the back states that the petitioner's great uncle, Jean Pierre Orange, had been admitted to the French Hospital on 26 April 1776.
