<dc:description>John Martin, a 60 year old man requests to be admitted to the Hospital. He was born on 2 January 1786. His parents were Ann and James Martin. His paternal grandfather, Isaiah Martin, was a Protestant refugee from France, who became a resident of the French Hospital, where he died. John used to be a hat maker and is now a silk weaver. However, he can no longer work due to age-related conditions and poor eyesight. The petition is signed by John Martin himself and James Thomas Fletcher.
