  <dc:title>George Barnardier's petition</dc:title>
<dc:description>George Barnardier, a 65 year old widower, requests to be admitted to the Hospital. He was born on 4 June 1785. His parents were Rebecca and James Barnardier. The latter's family were of Huguenot descent and James belonged to the Goldsmith Company in 1732. George is a silkweaver but suffers from age-related conditions and loss of eyesight so can no longer work. The petition bears George Barnardier's mark and is signed by Thomas Richardson.
At the back, a note states that the petitioner's sister, Sarah Jane Grew, is a resident of the French Hospital.
