  <dc:title>Ann Mannekee's petition</dc:title>
  <dc:description>Ann Mannekee, a 58 year old woman, requests to be admitted to the Hospital. She was born on 4 October 1791. Her parents were  Thomas Mannekee and Elizabeth Barbeto. The latter's father, John Barbeto, was a resident of the French Hospital and died there c. fifty years prior to the petition being made. Ann used to be a domestic servant but she suffers from poor health so can no longer work. The petition bears Ann Mannekee's mark and is signed by George Racine.
A note at the back states that a Jean Barboteau was admitted to the French Hospital on 27 September 1790 and died on 6 September 1801.
