  <dc:description>John Williams, a 58 year old man, requests to be admitted to the Hospital. He was born on 1 March 1792. His parents were John Williams and Mary Martin. His maternal grandfather, John Charles Martin, was originally from Walencourt, in France. John is a silk weaver but can no longer work due to poor eyesight. The petition is signed by John Williams himself and Allen T Edwards.
At the back, a note states that the petitioner's mother had been a member of the French Church of London.
