  <dc:description>John Anthony Gilbert, a 67 year old widower, requests to be admitted to the Hospital. He was born on 18 December 1783. His parents were Mary Ann Parker and Anthony Gilbert. The latter was a French Protestant, born in Audinghen, a village between Calais and Boulogne-sur-Mer. John Anthony was a merchant in corn in the colonial trade making £200,000 per year. He then suffered great losses and was made bankrupt. The petition is signed by John Anthony Gilbert himself and Robert Air.
