  <dc:title>Jane Miles' petition</dc:title>
<dc:description>Jane Miles, a 56 year old widow, requests to be admitted at the Hospital. She was born on 6 September 1786. Her parents were Susan Senechaud and Peter Nicolas Le Duc. The latter was a Huguenot from Picardy who came to England to avoid religious persecution. He was a member of the French Church as is the petitioner (the name of the Church is not given). Jane is a weaver and had a shop for several years. She now suffers from 'bodily infirmity' and can no longer work. The petition is signed by Jane Miles herself and Jonathan Matthey.
