<dc:title>Note on Peter Harley, an inmate</dc:title>
<dc:description>Reads: 'Peter Harley nearly drowned in Bow Creek near the Orchard House Blackwall and was brought to the Orchard-house, and Mr Bishop would be obliged to any of his friends if they would fetch what property he has which consisted of two Guineas 5 shilling and a watch which will be delivered upon the paying what expense he has incured. But whoever comes must bring a note from him or this'.
This was evidently in one of the bundles of bills (H/B/12) and is endorsed with a note of £1:5:6 paid 12 January 1802 for coach-hire, surgeon, etc. Pierre Harley was reported as 'found drowned' in November 1804, so his end may have been a second and successful attempt at suicide.</dc:description>
