  <dc:title>Accounts for grants</dc:title>
<dc:description>These accounts are survivors of the series rendered in respect of the grants of William III for the years 1696-1699 under the Act of 1696. The first signed manual of the King under that Act was dated 20 July 1696. The first action by the Treasury to implement it was a warrant dated 27 July 1696. The earliest extant account is no. 2 of the 1696 grant (RB/D/017/1). Evidence of the existence at one time of the account no. 1 is provided by the account no. 3 (RB/D/017/2) of the same grant.
Each of the accounts in this group has a cover title. In the main these accord with the pattern of the cover title to RB/D/017/1.
Account no 3 of 1696, no. 1 of 1697 (RB/D/017/2-3) and account no. 1 and no. 2 of 1699 (RB/D/017/4-5) are duplicates of those in the Corporation of London Record Office.</dc:description>
