Minutes of Directors' meetings These eight slim volumes are very very similar in form throughout. Entries are usually brief. Up to 1764, and occasionally later, admissions of pupils are reported. Apprenticeships, with the name and trade of the master or mistress, are regularly recorded. There are references to tradesmen chosen to supply food and clothing, to repairs to the school building, to the purchase of Bibles and other books, to small money prizes given quarterly for writing, and in September 1795 detailed rules about holidays and visits to parents.
