  <dc:description>In 1938 the IOE moved from Southampton Row to new premises in the North Wing of Senate House.  The official opening was in May 1939 but only 4 months later the IOE was evacuated to University College Nottingham as the Ministry of Information requisitioned Senate House.  Although they moved back to London in 1943 they didn't return to occupy Senate House until 1946.  </dc:description>
