European Society for Neurochemistry meeting, Leipzig, East Germany, 23-28 July 1989 Katz delivered a plenary lecture. It was only Katz's second return to his home town (the first being the previous year). Earlier in 1989 (8-11 April) he also visited Halle for the Annual Meeting of the Deutsche Akademie der Naturforscher Leopoldina, and correspondence relating to this is also included. Material which appears to have been sent with a letter in KATZ/F/58 from Dietmar Biesold to Katz, probably as background for his lecture.
