<dc:title>International Organization for Biotechnology and Bioengineering papers</dc:title>
<dc:description>Malcolm Lilly's correspondence and papers regarding the International Organization for Biotechnology and Bioengineering (IOBB). Includes minutes of meeting, 1980 and Newsletters, 1982.

In a notice in Biotechnology and Bioengineering, 1975 (see LILLY/F/276) Lilly as chairman explained that the IOBB was a non-profit organisation created in 1968 by Professors C.-G. Heden, I. Malek, G. Terui, H.G. Gyllenberg and E.L. Gaden Jr, and that it had been responsible for various training courses in biotechnology and bioengineering and sponsorship of many international symposia. UCL biochemical engineering was a member from the late 1960s and Lilly served the IOBB in a number of capacities including a period as chairman. He was elected to the honorary membership of the IOBB in 1996, one of the first two honorary members of the organisation.</dc:description>
