<dc:description>Malcolm Lilly's correspondence and papers regarding The Biotransformation Club.

The Biotransformation Club was operated by the Biotechnology Research Group of the Laboratory of the Government Chemist. The LGC was a research establishment of the Department of Trade and Industry.

The rationale of the Club was that biotransformations would effect many sectors of industry and that there was a clear need for these sectors to be aware of the many opportunities that biotransformations could offer. Lilly was a member of the Club on behalf of the UCL Department of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering.</dc:description>
