  <dc:title>Notebook</dc:title>
<dc:description>In 1947 Margaret Read visited 'Northern Rhodesia' [now Zambia] and 'Nyasaland' [now part of Malawi] to co-author a government report on the education of women and girls in south central Africa. The report recommended that women and girls should have better access to education, particularly to be taught the English language. This notebook contains notes from several meetings with local people during that trip.</dc:description>
