Manuscript Jewish festival prayer book, rite of Sana (Yemen), containing prayers for the Pilgrim Festivals and Days of Awe. The Hebrew date (given as a chronogram) is 647 , i.e. 1886 or 1887. 19th century (French?) watermark on f.5. Apparently copied from an original with superlinear vowel-points.

Nineteenth century leather binding in Islamic style (same motifs can be seen in 16th century bindings). Top and bottom of spine have been cut. Red and green threads are an Islamic tradition. Fragment of printed Arabic on inside front cover. </dc:description>
