- Resurgence magazine, Issue 118 (September-October 1986). Contains an article by John Aitkenhead about Kilquhanity free school.
- Typed report entitled “A Criticism of the ‘Free Choice’ Method of Education Based on Total Children’s Rights as at William Tyndale Junior School”. No author, no date.

Folder 2:
- “Dirty Dishes” periodical, issue no. 3, February 1982. Pages 26-27 feature an article on the White Lion Free School, including interviews with some of the female staff and students.
- Photocopied extract from the book “Free Way to Learning: Educational Alternatives in Action”, edited by David Head, 1974. Contains chapter 2, “Community School on the Way”, about the White Lion Street Free School. Discusses the history of the school, its aims, how it is run, and the organisations which provide support to the school.
- Photocopy of a newspaper article about a pupil at White Lion. Date c. 1985.

- Handwritten essay entitled “At the Limits of Progressive Education?” by Michael Farrell. Discusses the White Lion School, including quotations from staff, parents, and children.</dc:description>
