<dc:title>Letter to Richard</dc:title>
<dc:description>Typescript letter (1f) from Eric [Blair] to Richard Rees thanking him for sending on items, discussing reading matter (including Ruth Fischer's '<i>Stalin and German Communism</i>'), noting his allergic reaction to the Streptomycin, and making plans for the future. Noting imminent visits from Inez [Holden] and Brenda [Salkeld], the letter also refers to visits from Mat Kavanaugh and others from the Whiteway anarchist colony at Miserden, and picks up on a previous discussion about "cryptos and fellow travellers", perhaps in association with Celia Kirwan's (qv) research for the Information Research Department, naming [Harold] Laski, [George Douglas Howard] Cole, [Kingsley] Martin, [Reinhold] Niebuhr, [Konni] Zilliacus, [Dennis Noel] Pritt, [John] Platt-Mills, [Hugh] Lester Hutchinson and [Ian] Mikardo.</dc:description>
