Letters found divided into three bundles covering date periods.</p> <br></br> <p>The first bundle covers the period 1890-1897, and comprises letters on their mother Lucy and memories of Maria's wedding day; her thoughts on relationship with Maria; letters during Maria and Karl's honeymoon, mainly containing news of family and friends; on staying with Karl whilst 7 Well Road is prepared for habitation; on the death of their mother in December 1895; on holiday in Norway in 1897 with their sister Julia and Caroline Herford; and on her winter in Italy.</p> <br></br> <p>The second bundle covers the period 1898-1901, and comprises letters on family news and arranging their mothers letters; about purchase of land for home on View Road in Highgate (house was later called "Sibhaven"); on news of Maria's pregnancy with Helga and letters after the birth; on family photographs; news of their siblings; on taking a share in <i>Biometrika</i>; and reading novels and poetry</p> <br></br> <p>The third bundle covers the period 1902-1928, and comprises letters on Sigrid's keen literary interest; report of Helga's stay at Sibhaven in May 1902; on family visits; Sigrid's school work and examinations; Kitty Gaskell's sudden death; Egon's stay at Sibhaven in summer 1903; recounting games and play-acting among cousins Sigrid, Egon, Cathie and "Raddie" (D R Sharpe?); meeting at Charity Organisation Society on "unemployed question"; letter in 1908 on Karl, Sigrid and Egon whilst Maria was separated with Helga (due to illness?); letter in 1916 about note from War Office apparently stating George Sharpe had been killed in action, and this news instantly disproved by letter from George; about her Will; about ancestors of the Reids'; and letter about dispersement of family around the world.</p> 1890-1928
