 - to examine objectives, principles and practice at the various stages of the primary school, including relationships and informal activities as well as the curriculum in the narrower sense
 - to assess the quality and kind of work by pupils and teachers in different fields of the curriculum and to consider whether the development or modification is desirable
 - to study how the curriculum is determined by influence from inside and outside the school
 - to consider deployment of teachers and of other staff in primary schools, in relation to the needs of children and the supply of teachers
 - to consider the size of class for varying age groups and teaching purposes
 - to consider the classification of children by age and/or ability
 - to make recommendations on these issues to the Council</dc:description>
