Corporate Ranger's House 1723- Built in 1723 by Admiral Francis Hosier. After in death in 1748 he passed to his brother the 4th Earl of Chesterfield. In 185 it became the official residence of the 'Ranger of Greenwich Park' and was renamed 'Ranger's House'. The house was bought by the London County Council in 1902 and was put to various uses before it was restored in 1960 and became a museum. The house later transferred to the Greater London Council (GLC). The later 1970s and early 1980s it was the site of various educational activities arranged by Gene Adams, the ILEA museums education advisor.
