Corporate [1920s]- The Foundling Hospital in London, England was founded in 1739 by Thomas Coram for the "education and maintenance of exposed and deserted young children." It was initially based in Hatton Gardens before moving to a new building in Bloomsbury in the 1740s-1750s. In the 1920s the Hospital moved out of central London and a a museum was established in Brunswick Square using the Hospital's historical colllections. The museum was not open to the public but accepted group visits. The Foundling Museum was set up as a separate charitable organisation in 1998 and was the Museum was opened to the public in 2004.
