Person Rebecca Allen-Olney ([1846]-1927)

[1846]-1927 Rebecca Allen-Olney was born around 1846 and spent most of her early life abroad. In 1876, she became the head of the Girls' Public Day School Company School, St John's Wood High School, (later renamed South Hampstead High School). In 1886 Rebecca and her sister Sarah (head of Blackheath High School, another GPDSC school), resigned their headships and set up a private school, The Elms in Hampstead, which became a competitor of South Hampstead High School. Rebecca died in 1927.
