Person Rosalind Mabel Haig Brown (1872-1964)

1872-1964 Rosalind Mabel Haig Brown was born in London on 20 January 1872. She was educated at Guildford high school and Girton College, Cambridge until 1897. She later gained an MA from Trinity College, Dublin, in 1906. From 1897-1901 she was an assistant mistress at Blackheath High School, a school owned by the Girls' Public Day School Company (later Trust), and became the head mistress of Oxford High School in 1902. She was noted for her school addresses on ethics, published as Ad lucem (1931). She retired in 1932 and worked for the United Nations Association and the Oxford City Moral Welfare Association. She died in Oxford on 7 September 1964.
