Person Mabel Lewis

[1881]-1963 Mabel Lewis was educated at Hereford High School, 1886-1899 and entered Newnham College in 1900. Her first teaching post was at Wimbledon High School, 1904-1912, a school owned by the Girls' Public Day School Trust (GPDST). On leaving the school she travelled Europe until she took the headship of Southend-On-Sea High School in 1913. In 1918 she was appointed as the head of Wimbledon High School until she retired in 1939. In 1940 she moved to Bath and became a member of the Bath High School Governing Body and later joined the Bath Education Committee.
