Person Ella Ransford

[1884]-1968 Ella Ransford was educated at St Leonards School, St Andews, 1899-1903, and Girton College, Cambridge, 1904-1907. She also was awarded a BA from Trinity College, in 1907. After graduating she spent a year in France where she worked for her diploma for the International Guild. In 1908 she returned to the UK and taught at Penarth County School for Girls. In 1910 she was appointed senior French mistress at the Belvedere School, one of the schools owned by the Girls' Public Day School Trust (GPDST). She remained with the GPDST, becoming head of Ipswich High School in 1919 before moving on to Croydon High School in 1925, where she remained until 1939.
