Person Marjorie Jarrett

c1891-1973 Marjorie Jarrett was educated at private schools in Highgate, London, and Brighton and Brighton and Hove School, which was run by the Girls' Public Day School Trust (GPDST). She was at Lady Margaret Hall, Oxford, 1911-1914. She taught at the GPDST school, the Belvedere School, from 1914-1922. In 1922 she was appointed the head of Northgate School for Girls', Ipswich, and was also the Principal of a Women's Evening College at the school from 1924. In 1933 she became the Head of the GPDST's Clapham High School and Principal of Clapham High School Training College. In 1938 she oversaw the merger of her school with Streatham High School and continued to the head of the new school, Streatham Hill and Clapham High School, until her retirement in 1947.
