1841-1925 She was born on 7 Jun 1864, the daughter of George William Lyttelton, fourth Baron Lyttelton (1817–1876), and his wife, Mary Glynne. She was married to Sir Frederick Canvendish in 7 June 1864, and was often referred to as Lady Frederick Cavendish, She was a diarist and was active in religious educational causes, especially after the death of her husband in 1882. She was a founding member of the Girls' Public Day School Trust ; president of the Yorkshire Ladies' Council of Education, 1885–1912; and a member of the royal commission on education in 1894.
