Corporate Notting Hill and Ealing High School 1873- Opened as Notting Hill and Bayswater High School on 16 Sep 1873 in Norland Square, it was the 2nd school opened by the Girl's Public Day School Company. Its first head mistress, Harriet Morant Jones, started the school with ten pupils and continued to head the school until 1900. The lease of the building expired in 1883 and the Council purchase the building. The old buildings were no longer suitable for the large school and the Council built prepared a new building in Addison Road by architect J Osbourne Smith. The school transferred to the new buildings in September 1884. The school continued to expand into other houses nearby the school, including 152 Holland Park Avenue. In 1922 the school leased No. 3 Landsdowne Road which was opened as an boarding house. In 1930 the school announced that the Addison road site was no longer suitable and move the school to Girton House, 2 Cleveland Road, in Ealing. In the same year 54 Holland Park was acquired to be the home of the preparatory department for pupils who were too young to travel all the way to the new school. The senior school moved to the new site in January 1931 and the school was renamed to Notting Hill and Ealing School. The preparatory department at 54 Holland Park was closed in 1934 due to lack of demand.
