Corporate Clapton and Hackney High School 1875-1899 Hackney High School was the 6th school opened by the Girls' Public Day School Company on 2 June 1875 with 64 pupils. In 1885 the Council bought two houses in Marriott Place, Lower Clapton. The school moved to the new premises on 21 September 1886 and was renamed Clapton and Hackney High School. Due to lack of demand the school became a 'modern School' and fees were reduced and the curriculum was changed. Closed 14 April 1899.
