From 1919-1921 she was the sub-editor of 'The Challenge' where she met her future husband William Cash who was the editor. She was Assistant Private Secretary to the General Manager of The Liverpool and Globe Insurance Co. Ltd, 1922-1925; Assistant Librarian at the English School Library at Oxford; and Librarian of Sommerville College from 1928 until her marriage in 1932. She remained associated with Sommerville College and was a member of the Council from 1944-1949. 

She first joined the Education Committee of the Girls' Public Day School Trust in 1935, and was the Chair of the Committee 1937-1948. She became a member of the Council in 1937 until her death in 1962. She was also a member of the Sites and Buildings Committee and local governor of Croydon High School. Her husband was also a member of the Council. </Nationality>
