Person Gay Firth

1937-2005 Gay Firth was a journalist, author and campaigner for equal opportunities. She was born as Arabella Gay Turtle in Belfast in 1937. She was educated at The Mount boarding school in York and Trinity College, Dublin. She trained as a teacher at Cambridge where she met her future husband, Tony Firth. She was a member of the Girls' Day School Trust Council from 1986 until her death in 2005.
