1885-1974 Educated Clapham High School and St Hughs College, Oxford. Lectured on English and art by Bishop Otter College, Chichester, 1907-1921. Appointed to an HM Inspector in 1921 and became a Divisional Staff Women Inspector, 1928-1932; Staff Inspector of Training Colleges, 1932-1934; Divisional Inspector, 1934-1937; Senior Women Inspector, 1937-1938; Chief Inspector, 1938-1947. Member of the Council of the Girls' Public Day School Trust, 1949-1966, and was deputy chair from 1964-1965. Also a member of the sites and buildings committee, Inspections Sub-Committee, member of local governors at Croydon, Birkenhead and Belvedere.
