From 1953-1969, she was a Lecturer and subsequently Senior Lecturer in Education at Exeter University.. She moved to Dartington in the early 1970s. Member of the English New Education Fellowship and member of the Guiding Committee of the New Education Fellowship up 1965. 

She was the author of The education of the poetic spirit: a study in children’s expression in the English lesson (1949); Some emotional aspects of learning (1951); Coming into their own: a study of the idiom of young children revealed in their verse writing (with Getrude E. Cooper) (1959); Relationship in learning (1972); On creative thinking (1974); and Children as writers, 3 : award-winning entries from the 17th Daily Mirror Children’s Literary Competition [foreword] (1976). </Nationality>
