1872-1946 Paul Langevin was born in Paris in 23 January 1872. He was a French physicist who developed Langevin dynamics and the Langevin equation. He was one of the founders of the antifascist Comité de vigilance des intellectuels antifascistes in 1934. He was also president of the Human Rights League, 1944 -1946 and a member of the French Communist Party. He died on 19 December 1946. He was the first President of the the French Section of the New Education Fellowship and was one of the Vice-Presidents of the international conferences organised by the Fellowship.
