Corporate 1930- The French speaking Belgium Section was formed in 1930 by Dr Ovide Decroly (president) and Amélie Hamaide (Secretary). It published a bi-monthly magazine called 'Vers E'Ecole Active'. A Flemish Speaking Belgian Section was set up a year later headed by Dr Decroly. Hamaide became the president of the section after the death of Decroly in 1932. The Section was reconstituted in 1947 into two distinct French and Flemish groups. In 1964 Henri Biscompte, Secretary of the remaining Belgium Section, created the Association Des Groups D'Education Nouvelle De Language Française (AGELAF) , to incorporate all French speaking members of the Fellowship into one Section, including the members of his Section, the remaining members of the dormant French Section, and some members in other countries. In 1972 the Belgian Section was reconstituted. The Belgian Section was still active in 2009.
