Description | Correspondence from the shareholders mainly regarding the finances of the Trust and the lack of dividends. The letters have been split into several folders reflecting how the papers were organised in the box file: 1) From envelope 'Report of Harold Brown of Linklaters & Paines on suggestions by Col. Parkers and others regarding redemption of preference shares', 1926-1931, correspondence regarding William Parker, Gerald Moody and other shareholders listed at the same address who were complaining about the lack of dividends and pushing the Trust to convert the shares into debenture stock. 2) Correspondence regarding a circular by WP Bisgood sent to all the shareholders calling for the Trust to be run as a business concern 1939-1942, including a copy of the circular, correspondence with other shareholders regarding the circular; extract from the AGM minutes regarding Bisgood's concerns; and further correspondence with Bisgood. 3) Letters from shareholders, 1918-1942, mainly regarding the lack of dividend from the shares and copies of replies from the Trust Secretary. |
