| Description | Miniature commonplace book with the bookplate of Anne and F G Renier. Contains poetry, quotations, epithets, riddles etc in several hands with one predominant. Includes some small pressed foliage, an engraving (of a hunting scene?) pasted in, and a pencil drawing of a sailing ship in front of a coastal fortress.
Pencil annotation at the front of the book (dated 1989) by St Clair estimates the date as 1830s and notes "Includes A.R [Anne Renier's] notes 1962". |
