| Description | A typed memo entitled 'Visit to George Orwell June 15th, 1949', presumably written by his publisher Fredric Warburg. The memo gives an overview of the meeting in which they discussed Orwell's health; royalties; a publicity statement by Orwell [see ORWELL/I/7/41]; and Orwell's future literary work. Health permitting, Orwell planned to publish a collection of mostly pre-written essays, along with a new essay on Conrad, and a piece on Gissing. Orwell also mentioned a potential new novel with Burma as a background. (2ff) ORWELL/I/2/F is a carbon copy of this document. |
