| Description | Papers of the Education Committee of Woodcraft Folk, mainly regarding the training of Woodcraft Folk leaders, and training in Woodcraft Folk activities (i.e. songs, dance, arts, crafts, camping, wildlife, social history, conservation, and the history and structure of the organisation). The discussion in these papers generally revolves around weekend schools, training camps, and the production of educational resources including songbooks, badges, and handbooks. The papers are mostly from 1970 onwards but include a small amount from 1950-1969, and one-page report from 1938.
These papers mainly consist of minutes of meetings, memos, circulars, reports, correspondence, and educational material. They also include the following: - Discussion regarding production of various publications including Woodcraft Way. - Discussion regarding the Peace Badge. - National Education Committee annual reports. - Text of Venturer Leaders Guides. - Examination papers and syllabus from the leaders’ diploma course 1954. - Minutes of Camp Committee (1975). - Promotional material explained the Folk’s aims and principles. - Discussion over childcare and the creche (1985 Leaders’ Training School), including reflections on the event. - ‘Wayfarer: An introductory guide to hiking and expeditions’ (1986). - Policy document on anti-racist work (1987).
