Description | Papers regarding numbers of students and subject studies in the sixth forms in Trust Schools, mainly comprising responses from head mistresses to a survey by the Trust in 1964 on the numbers of pupils in each Sixth Form, approximate division of subjects, and general issues. Also includes other material which appears to have been added to the file at a later date including results of a survey into the typical timetable of 6th form pupil working for Higher Schools Certificate and college entrance examinations, 1934; the Trust submission to a survey into sixth forms in grammar schools by the editor of the Times Educational Supplement, 1949; responses by head mistresses to a survey by the Trust into the reasons behind increasing numbers of pupils attending sixth form, 1953; and photocopy of a letter to Lady Johnson, 27 Feb 1979, regarding the numbers of pupils in sixth forms in Trust schools from 1900-1939 taken from HMI reports.
