DescriptionAccounts of receipts from poor boxes and payments to the (named) poor and needy, January 1738-1809; a short chronicle by M Chirol of events affecting the chapel from its destruction by fire in 1809 to the suppression of the chaplainces in 1830; signed accounts of expenses for the service and upkeep of the church, 1759-1762.
Cover title: 'Comptes pour la Chappale [sic] Royale 1737-1810'. Inside the front cover are sundry memoranda c. 1752 and a note in pencil: 'Given me by M. Chirol J. S. B.' Pasted in are two pages of extracts from the ms. and a note of his contents. The ms. begins: 'Comptes pour les boetes [sic] ... et la distribution... aux pauvres commençant a l'anne 1738'; followed by a statement that the account for 1737 had been balanced on 31 December 1737. It is followed by two pages of memoranda, c. 1752. The accounts proper begin on 1 January 1738.
