| Description | Homemade book of poetry. Made from a blank notebook filled with printed poems cut from other books, newspapers, etc, and small engravings of country houses, castles and other landmarks. A printed title page (cut from another work) reads "Miscellaneous Poetry Original and Select / Published by S F Jacob, 1830". It is not clear how many (if any) of the clippings in this book come from the same work. Some cuttings are from newspapers or magazines and some appear to be older than 1830.
In a note inside the front cover, William St Clair suggests that this book was compiled by a man. |
