| Description | Commonplace book, bookplate of Emma Bishop on the front pastedown. A large album of coloured paper intended for use as a commonplace book (cf the exemplar volumes). Contains engravings of people and places, poetry in various hands (usually with a name or initials), small pencil and watercolour drawings. One entry dated 1859. A child's drawings, partially erased, appear on some of the pages. There is also a pressed dried leaf between two pages. |
